How many people can you carry. (Top)

Topline is licensed to carry 12 paying passengers and 2 crew.

What about individuals and small parties (Top)

You can either book per person or charter the whole boat. Please refer to the cost section for prices. It is always worth ringing us on a Friday afternoon to check if we have space for the weekend

What tackle should I bring (Top)

Tackle is provided as part of your charter on a wreck fishing trip. There is a small charge for hooks that are lost and lead weights when over rough ground.

What about conservation (Top)

Our conservation policy is simple, “if you are not going to eat it, Return it for another day”. If the skipper says release it then please do so. this means we can prevent you from example: Taking under stoked fish etc. We also observe any M.A.F.F. bans on landing particular species that might be in force at the time of your trip.

Is bait provided (Top)

Bait is part of your charter cost. The bait that is provided is squid & mackerel pieces when in season. If you wish to fish with worm etc. you need to bring it with you.

What happens to the fish we catch (Top)

The catch is yours to do with what you will. but you must bear in mind that Topline is a sport fishing operation, we do discourage large scale fish kills, in the attempt to cover the cost of the trip. Where practical we prefer the catch and release approach for inedible species and for the “Table” fish in excess of those for personnel consumption.

Where is the boat berthed and is there parking (Top)

Topline is berthed off a platoon mooring and is accessible on  all stages of the tide. Parking is plentiful, even in the summer, and it is FREE

Do you require a deposit (Top)

In order to have your booking confirmed you will need to send us 25% of the total cost of your charter. Any balance is due on completion of the charter. Circumstances under which the deposit is returnable are explained in our conditions of hire.

What about safety at sea (Top)

Your safety whilst on our vessel is of paramount importance to us. The safety equipment that Topline carries is outlined by the M.S.A. (Marine Safety Agency) to comply to their Code Of Practice. You will be given a brief safety lecture and shown the locations of such things as all the safety gear and how to use it.

How do I book (Top)

You can book using the website booking form or by calling us. Please reefer to the contact details.

Are you licensed and insured (Top)

Topline is licensed by the R.Y.A. (Royal Yachting Association) under the control of the M.C.A. (Marine Safety Agency) and is skippered by a licensed boatman. The vessel and it occupants are insured for charter operations. A copy of our Insurance Certificate and our R.Y.A. certificate can be viewed onboard the vessel. Please remember the documents should be available on any vessel you charter. Never charter a vessel unless you view the documents, as you could be sailing uninsured.

What if the charter is cancelled (Top)

It depends on who cancels and when. If we cancel there is no charge. If you cancel late however, then the charter is payable in full. If one of your party drops out, it makes no difference to the overall charter cost if you booked the whole boat.
