Whiting are not commonly captured whilst wreck fishing. It is not a fish you can target, however those that are captured near to wrecks tend to be large fish.

Whiting are voracious feeders and are usually captured in numbers.

The best tackle to use is baited Mackerel feathers. They can however make a mess of your end tackle, should you let the line go slack.

Whiting can be found over the reefs at certain times of the year, but usually prefer the sandy outcrops between rocks and ledges. As a schoaling species, when they are found, they will be captured in numbers.

As a specie, Whiting are a table delicacy nowadays.

Best baits for catching Whiting are really any fish bait. When on the feed, Whiting will just about feed on anything offered.
